Lost Judgment: Tips, tricks och hur man blir en bättre detektiv

Live your best detective life as Yagami in the sequel to Judgment.

Yakuza series spinoff Judgment may be similar to the role-playing games that amassed a major fanbase, but it's got its own set of quirks. For one thing, you'll have to rely more on your skills as a gumshoe than on the battlefield if you want to succeed. With the second game in the Judgment series, Lost Judgment, out in the wild, it's time to jump in and solve another case as Takayuki Yagami. This time, a brutal murder in Yokohama's Isezaki Ijincho requires Yagami's expertise, and by extension, yours. If you're looking to jump into the game and make a difference during the trial (and get to the bottom of who the culprit actually is), we've got some tips and tricks to help you get started on the right foot.

Max out your combat-earned SP

Yagami may be a detective, but he's still got to tangle with his fair share of street toughs to succeed. In battle, whether out in the streets or in secluded areas, he can choose from Tiger, Crane, or Snake styles. You can remain with one if you feel comfortable doing that, but swapping between each one will get you additional SP, or experience points, so you can spend them on extra skills later. You don't have to switch constantly, but knowing when to fade from one style into another is tantamount to success and will ensure you level up faster and more efficiently. Because you never know who's going to have to catch Yagami's hands in the world of Lost Judgment.

Explore and play mini-games

You may be chomping at the bit to see the rest of Lost Judgment's narrative play out, but don't rest on your laurels and ignore the mini-games and additional content to take part in. That includes exploring Isezaki Ijincho and Kamurocho, playing through side-missions, and playing mini-games. You'll unlock a ton of additional cash and SP by doing so, and you'll break up a bit of what can eventually head into monotony quckly as well. You can take part in a wide variety of different things as Yagami, so don't just feel like you're relegated to detective work and walking around. This is a Yakuza spinoff, after all, and there are even arcade games to play.

Prioritize healh and damage abilities when leveling up

What to do with all that extra SP you've earned as Yagami? Put it to good in the Skills menu. There are tons of abilities you can choose from there to level up Yagami so that he becomes even more of a lean, mean killing machine. But don't just spend points frivolously. Go for the more hardy health and damage upgrades before anything else. You'll want to last longer in combat, and hit harder. Those are the two most important things to keep in mind. Everything else is secondary, becaue the longer you live and the more damage you do, the more formidable of an opponent you become.

Stock up on consumables

The world of Lost Judgment is rife with plenty of snacks and meals to ensure Yagami has a way to regain health when he needs it the most. From oden bowls and delicious bento boxes to soft serve ice cream and more, go to any restaurant and convenience store in Lost Judgment to stock up on consumable goods so you never have to want for anything. That way, in the heat of battle when Yagami needs some health points the most, you're ready to go, and he's got a tasty snack to enjoy. If only we could all pack around delicious meals on our person without a backpack or bag in sight. One of Yagami's most underrated skills, that.
